Gene Young was a Hollywood Special Effects artist, Designer, Photographer, and Marketer. Gene's model shop, and motion control stage, Gene Young Effects, in Glendale was the birthplace of many memorable TV and movie moments.

1946 - 2011

Special Effects:

Having started his special effects career under the tutelage of legendary effects pioneer Linwood Dunn, Gene Young started his own shop and produced many unique effects that we all remember.

Photography:

Gene Young was an accomplished photographer, well versed in many formats. His work in print marketing is memorable, but his previously unpublished work is breathtaking. We will do our best to honor his legacy and share his work with you here.

Sculpture:

Gene Young's fascination with engineering and design is evident in his sculptures. Unique, pieces made from acrylic, plastics, wood, Bronze... Gene Young wasn't known to limit his creativity.

Sketches:

Gene Young was an amazing artist. His drawings, and sketches have a unique subtlety that showcase his lifelong passions of design, engineering, and aeronautics.

Exhibits:

Gene Young and his team has put together numerous exhibits at prestigious museums across the country including: The Chicago Art Institute, and the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum as well as permanent installations for JPL, and the USAF.

Collections:

Gene Young had many interests and collected many things. Most people that knew him were are of his classic European car collection, but there is more.
